Service acceptance is required. Research participation is separate.
CALLIOPE separates the consent needed to operate your account from optional research, showcase, or case-study use.
Required at registration
- Confirm that you are 18 or older, or are using CALLIOPE through an authorized educator, institution, parent, or guardian arrangement.
- Accept the Terms of Use.
- Acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
- Allow CALLIOPE to process account data, microphone audio for transcription, dialogue transcripts, educator source uploads, usage, and AI requests needed to provide the service.
Optional consent
Research participation, identifiable case-study use, public showcase use, workshop analysis, or use of identifiable artefacts beyond normal service delivery requires a separate opt-in or study-specific consent process where applicable. Declining optional research consent should not prevent normal use of CALLIOPE.
Normal service data
Used for login, spoken interaction, transcripts, educator source uploads, draft assessment, human review, support, security, credits, and service diagnostics.
Educator or institution data
Schools, educators, or administrators may receive oral transcripts, assessment, analytics, and audit views needed to run a class, studio, pilot, or institution account.
Research data
Collected only when an approved study context and consent settings are active. Research exports should include consented participants and approved fields only.
Data rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, export, or consent withdrawal for eligible personal data. Some data may need to be retained for security, legal, audit, billing, institutional, or backup reasons.
